Magical Christmas Lights

Papa said I could start learning magic. I wanted to light the candles but I'm not allowed to have matches. I saw Papa light candles with just his fingers. I kept trying to do it the way he did but it just would not work.

Papa came outside to see what I was doing yesterday. "What you doing Small Lady?" he asked.

"I'm twying to light dis cannal, Papa." I showed him what I was doing.

Papa had me set the candle down on the ground and he helped me learn how to snap my fingers. When I could do it and make the sound, he had me look at the candle and think of what the fire looked like.

I sat on the floor for a long time snapping my fingers. It finally lit I jumped up and picked up the candle and called for Papa. "LOOK! I DID IT!" I shouted excitedly.

This is gonna be the best winter ever. Now I can light candles on Yule and for my scout events. This the best spell yet cause now I don't have to worry about the dark.
